Motor insurance rip off

I Really think we pay far too much for motor insurance in general in this country – we have a really weird way of doing things. For example in Australia the vehicle is insured so that any driver with a valid licence is covered. That is a much better way to do things rather than every driver having to be insured.
It makes me think that the UK approach is designed for a particular purpose – that is to fleece hard working people out of the most money they can.
Just my thought of the day.
